Holidays celebrated and years passing

Sometimes it is worth reflecting and other times we just power on. December came with the reminder that I still have not sent out my Christmas/Change of Address cards. I might just send them for humor's sake. These being from two years past. The funny thing is not much needs to be changed. The kids are bigger, and more independent. We are still working away at various projects, trying to find balance in a dual entrepreneur family. We spend out time taking advantage of the life quality that living in Malmö, escaping to Chamonix (mountains and sunshine) and to the Elizabeth Islands (family and nature) provides. We are a little older, and perhaps a little wiser.

Last year's New Year's reflections were about identifying our basic needs for happiness, health, and sustainability. This year it is to expand our reach for opportunities, which may mean some sacrifices, but provides new adventures and exciting challenges. I put aside my passion project at the end of last year which although somewhat traumatic was a relief when the final decision was made. I am still working with knowledge sharing/networks and social strategies, but no longer focusing my energy and resources on building the tools. I am now writing, researching, consulting, and teaching "Social Strategy."

I still have optimistic visions of sending out a card via the post, as I do believe it is such a treat to receive something other than bills and adverts in the mailbox. Time continues to pass with or without my encouragement. At least we are all happy and reasonably healthy. Who knows, maybe I will even start writing music again. 2010 will be interesting, of that I am sure.
